11th International Congress on Deterioration and Conservation of Stone
Date: 15-20 September 2008
Place: Torun, Poland
The Congress are
dedicated to protection of cultural heritage and take place every four
years assembling restores, experts, and organizations involved in
conservation of stone historical objects.
The Torun Cogress is
directed to exchange both the scientific and practical experience and
knowledge concerning examination and conservation of stone and mineral
materials.
The scientific
presentations and workshops at the same time and place will allow to
discuss superior subjects in order to implement scientific theories and
needs of practical conservation.
The following subjects will be raised:
* material structures, properties and deterioration
* documentation and investigations
* conservation methods and products
* case studies
After twenty years, with
great honour, we will entertain the Stone Congress in Torun again. The
Old Town of Torun is on the UNESCO World Heritage List as one of the
best examples of medieval gothic town.
Participants will be able
to visit monuments and get to know about conservation projects. Nearby
the Teutonic Castles Route with The Castle of the Teutonic Order in
Malbork will be within reach.
