CAA UK Chapter conference 2010

The Institute of Archaeology at University College London and the CAA UK Chapter committee would like to invite you to submit a paper or poster presentation for the CAA UK Chapter conference 2010. The conference is to be held at the Institute of Archaeology, London on the 19th – 20th February 2010.

We welcome submissions on any topic within the sphere of archaeological computing, but this year we particularly encourage papers that address the following topical themes:

- The 3 R’s – Reusability, Repeatability and Robustness – This can be in relation to many different areas such as quantitative modeling, ABM, spatial modeling, practical examples of data reuse, mash-ups, etc.
- Mobility – This can include submissions on any type of computer-based mobility studies including (but not limited to) settlement patterns, linguistic mobility, temporal mobility, visitor movement, animal movement etc.

Other themes of long-standing interest to researchers and practitioners include:

- Archaeological computing methods and techniques within the Cultural Resource Management (CRM) environment – Submissions on current computing practice and method are particularly welcome from commercial archaeology companies, museum professionals, heritage managers, local authority officers or other bodies working within CRM.
- Pattern recognition – Finding patterns within archaeological data, site patterning, image recognition, etc.
- Theory within Archaeological Computing – The application of archaeological theory within the computing environment e.g post-processual approaches to archaeological computing.


Registration costs are as follows:
Student registration £25
Standard registration £40

This registration charge includes coffees and teas, a sandwich buffet lunch on both days and a wine reception on the Friday evening.

The CAA UK 2010 meeting will be held in Institute of Archaeology, University College London, 31-34 Gordon Square, London. WC1H 0PY.
